I got mugged! (mighty muggs)

Lately I have been totally obsessed with these Mighty Muggs. Have you seen them? They mix all different kinds of brands like Star Wars and Marvel and Indiana Jones and soon G.I. Joe and Transformers.

Anyway, people have started to do all kinds of crazy customs and mods to them incorporating other favorite characters. I don't have the time or money to actually buy a ton and do customs, however I've had a ton of fun doing mock-up/concept characters. I thought I'd share for the heck of it.

i've been asked to try one by MuggsLab, sorta official MM myspace...but i have to save $ to get one shipped overseas, 'cause i can't find MM in italy :/

i'm really into Kidrobot customs though, i just finished this one today!

Wott0- I actually thought of that! I think I'll do a Mr. T at least, maybe a Murdock too.

Adam- I've been watching all your customs, they look awesome, do you tape off sections and paint? I'm wondering how clean of edges I could get if I try to actually paint one of these mock-ups. Its too bad they don't have MM's in Italy, they have them all over here, its just hard to find the characters you want.

well, usually no tape, just some blue crayons line to have a global idea.this wan has been done almost all "freestyle" didn't even sketched the body part.

no taping leaves some imperfections though.

Alright, I've still been nerdin' out on these Mighty Muggs designs. I don't know why I find it so entertaining to make these, but, if you can really have fun doing art then I guess you keep going.

haha, yeah that guy is crazy, I love how they captured his craziness too, with the stark uplight and stuff. And of course the heart is a nice touch, its too bad it doesn't actually pulsate!

Spacesick, you've got to post it here when you make one. I'm imagining Prince or someone in a purple velvet robe.
