I figure that some blokes here may have not heard of Sun Ra, so here is a wonderful mash up of Sun Ra and Galaxy Express 999!

He must have been terribly OCD. Everything happens in multiples of 3 or 5.

From what I heard, "999" was from a number of an actual locomotive that broke 100 mph.

Cool. Although I like the music a lot more than the visuals... I've been trying to find a link to Sun Ra's brilliant and bizarre "Nuclear War":

Nuclear War, they're talking about Nuclear War/It's a motherfucker, don't you know/if they push that button, your ass gotta go/and whatcha gonna do without your ass

But I couldn't find anything except the emusic link I've already posted in a different thread. Yo La Tengo did a pretty cool cover a couple of years ago too.

Oh! Just seen this. I have Nuclear War too. I was looking for a link on the web for the benefit of the Threadless community but couldn't find one. I suppose I could have uploaded a copy to a blogger account or something but it's probably easier for anyone interested to sign up for the eMusic free trial...

Brian Ritchie, who played with the Violent Femmes covered Nuclear War on an album he put out in '87. Sun Ra is great. Devo is great. Eric Dolphy is great. Thanks for the post! Space is the place.

Glad you find this post of great value, as Sun Ra is a hidden treasure that must be revealed!

I will have to put up the neat Devo vids for edification. The blog robots ate these blogs, so I will have to rebuild.
