I mean besides the obvious... LA, AL, MS, GA, FL, SC, AR, TN,

I personally wouldn't consider North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia Southern... well maybe Virginia... or Texas to me that's Western...

Virginia is half and half.

NoVA (that's washington-speak for Northern Virginia) is part of the DC area but out west and down south it's allll southern.

West Virginia and Kentucky and the like are Appalachian

I thought North Carolina was pretty southern
