Why do car guys assume I'm an idiot?

So I got 4 new tires put on my car for $500+ (ouch), I pick the car up and notice it isn't driving the same. When you turn a corner, the steering wheel doesn't go back to center all the way. You have to pull it back to correct the turn or the car just keeps veering. I call the guy, and he says there's no way they did anything to affect the steering. Um..okay. IT DROVE PERFECTLY FUCKING FINE BEFORE YOU TOUCHED IT. If they try to charge me for this I'm going to be so fucking pissed.

End Rant. Sorry. I'm so fricking annoyed right now.

Sadly I've learned if I want anything done right with my car, I've got to bring my dad or brother along. I've been BS'd on more than one occasion and once this shop tried to screw me on the price. tards!

sounds like they either messed w/ your alignment or your tires aren't new.

the same thing happened to me and they drove it again and acted like they didn't find anything wrong with it.

took it to another place and they found $800 wrong w/ it.

Cheeky ghits! - It's really easy (well, for muppets anyway) to mess up your alignment changing tyres. For them to say "there's no way they did anything to affect the steering" is just not true!

I hate the auto place up at my school. I went in once to get my blower replaced, they fixed that, then I drove home. Later that night I found out my fucking headlights wouldn't turn on. It must've been a "coincidence" that a wire came loose when they were fixing the blower.

maybe go somewhere else and get an alignment, you have to do that every once in a while anyway

You shouldn't have to pay for the alignment, that can be up to $100. Make sure they replaced your tires with the correct size.

The tires are the right size, and they certainly look brand new. People at work are saying maybe I need an alignment...I guess I don't understand why I would have to pay extra for that if they're the ones that fucked up the steering. The car drove perfect before yesterday and it's a 2002 Envoy, it's not like it's a piece of shit car. Shouldn't they test drive it to make sure it drives correctly before they give it back? Argh. The guy was a real dick too.

I'm bringing my boyfriend along for this bullshit. He may be a wuss but he looks mean. Heh

GO back to them and tell them to fix the alignment or whatever you think the problem is. Tell them what's happening.

DO NOT GIVE UP. If you harass them enough, they'll fix. I once I had to take my car back to a brake place 3 or 4 times before they fixed the problem. You have to be tenacious.

If they start to give you crap, tell them to fix it or you'll call the Better Business Bureau. That might scare them into giving you good service if they care about it. Either way I'd call the BBB because of the situation.

And DON'T give them anymore money. Tell them you're paying for your tires and that's it. The rest is their problem.

Sadly, I live in Wisconsin LOL. But thank you for the advice! What you said makes sense. I don't see why I should have to pay to have it fixed if they were the ones that messed up the alignment. Grrr. It makes me so mad that they guy is trying to say they did nothing wrong. I just want my car to drive like it did before yesterday!

I'm bringing in it tomorrow afternoon, much to the car guy's disgust. He made it sound like I was completely out of my mind for thinking something is wrong with it. Like he's doing me some huge favor by looking at it. IT'S YOUR FAULT IT'S DRIVING LIKE THIS YOUR MORON.
