2011 September Meetup: Hotel Group Rates!

Heyyyy Threadfans,

We are planning the 5th Annual Threadless Family Reunion on September 10th and we're going to block off some rooms for everyone who is traveling into join us in the festivities! I'll need to know who's interested in a hotel room so I can block off enough rooms! :)

Here are some details for the Meetup:

Date & Time: Saturday, September 10th 2011 (9/10/11 WEEE!) from 11am - approx 5pm
Location: Threadless Headquarters in Chicago (1260 W. Madison St)
After Party: The Bottom Lounge a few blocks away from the Threadless Headquarters. Party starts at 9pm

The hotel is the Crowne Plaza Metro Hotel on 733 W. Madison Street just down the street from Threadless HQ in Chicago. The hotel is walking distance (YAY!) to both Threadless Headquarters and The Bottom Lounge.

Rates are TBD, but will range around $170/night. You can either pick a King bed or Two Doubles (so up to 4 people could stay in a room).

Who's coming to party with us in September and needs a hotel room? Are you thinking of coming in Thursday or Friday?

that's super nice of you guys, but isn't HQ also kind of far from everything else in the city? i seem to remember the marriott last year being pretty central to a lot of stuff except HQ. i'm just wondering if it would make sense to book a more everything else-centric hotel?

Amanda and i stayed at this hotel last year and it is really nice and we loved that it was in walking distance to the headquarters!

It'd just be me in that room. Alone in a robe and extra cheese pizza, if that's okay.

I was going to do the Palmer Hilton but that's not walkable at all.

Most hotels in Chicago are ranging in the mid 200's for that weekend because of conferences, but if you find a cheaper hotel or one in a location that you prefer better, of course book there!

We definitely will block off a group of rooms at this one because of the proximity to all of the Threadless festivities! :)

I would be pretty down for this considering public transit makes it fairly easy to get around, or at least I thought so.

I have AAA too.. and am arriving on Thurs. Idk how many rooms that works for - I think last year they allowed it for 2 rooms.

That neighborhood while not central to a lot of stuff it did have some good restaurants and the Chicago mass transit is so good we'll be able to get everywhere. This is very cool of you guys to do this. If three others are down I will most likely also be down.

I've gotten over my initial dislike of this idear (for the most part). I still liked the other place (mostly because we could walk to a lot of places), but the price of this one is definitely better.
