Do you have a sore throat? You could get 'magic swizzle' - it's pepto bismol and lidocaine mixed, tastes vile as all hell, but it helps numb the throat.

Drink chicken broth (or have chicken-broth-based soup), tea, OJ, water (LOTS and LOTS of water)... until you pee so much that you start cursing the gods.
