their mouse/dog models are about retarded. how stupid. they save money as apposed to using models, I guess, but can't the workers just pose or at least buy fucking mannequins.

   d3d on May 26 '06 at 8:03pm
i do agree though. it's the difference between a clever sociological statement, and a pun with a clever graphic.
tesco
   tesco on May 26 '06 at 8:03pm
I really dont, it's just that that shirt is awful whereas piece of meat is awesome
tesco
   tesco on May 26 '06 at 8:04pm
I 've never seen it as a pun, just a piece of meat
d3d
   d3d on May 26 '06 at 8:09pm
i meant the other way around. Piece of Meat denotes the wearer as a piece of meat. i consider the United Steaks one the pun.
tesco
   tesco on May 26 '06 at 8:10pm
It definitley tries to hard, maybe without the text it would work better.

I know they are all different in ways, but when the idea and all is similar, I get pissy...

I love that Late of Autumn one. I'd buy it if they had it in my size. I need to check La Fraise more often.
tesco
   tesco on May 26 '06 at 8:19pm
well the mentality of the people behind lafraise is to copy great ideas, which is what they did to threadless, so it's no surprise they copy some of the actual shirt designs as well. boo, bad show.

cow head? where? what are you talking about?
Loserly
Loserly on May 26 '06 at 9:56pm
I honestly thought the piece of meat pun relied a bit heavily on the title. If someone thought about it long enough, they could come to the conclusion it was a sociological statement, but most people probably think you just like meat. The other shirt would definitely be better without the text, but I'm still not overly fond of it.

The idea of the french one is totally different... you call it "copy" whereas I call it "inspiration" ;) don't think we can appreciate both Threadless & Lafraise ? :) Good work Jack & d3d !!

isn't la fraise French? So do the French get the pun in there or do they just not care and laugh at anything that makes fun of Les Etats Unis?
