I thought it'd be cool to check out all the unique desktops you guys/gals have since you're all so into threadless designs.

Do you like mine? =) If you want me to tell me where I got the icons and wallpaper I will, but if you don't give a crap then don't post.

While I'm at it, does anyone know how to change the font colour of icons on Windows XP? I've been able to do it on every other version of Windows, just not this one.

...how doy you take a screen shot....
arethiel
arethiel on Nov 06 '05 at 4:15pm
well, on a PC, you can push the "Print Screen" button and it takes a picture (up near home and next ones) and on the Mac, ya can use the utility Grab to take de picture
xiv
   xiv on Nov 06 '05 at 4:18pm
after you press the print screen button, where is the pic stored?
arethiel
arethiel on Nov 06 '05 at 4:20pm
then it has been copied to the clipboard and you open, say, MS Paint, and paste it. I always pushed alt-print screen, but I was told you don't actually need the alt (cry), but yeah. it should paste it in...
gerpander
gerpander on Nov 06 '05 at 4:21pm
It's in the temp "memory", go to Photoshop, open a new file which will be the exact size of your print screen, ctrl+v paste it and there you have it. Simple.
gerpander
gerpander on Nov 06 '05 at 4:23pm
With Alt it doesn't grab the whole desktop, only the active window. Like if you have a small browser window open by itself (not fullscreen) and you want to grab only that, then make it active with a mouse click and printscreen it with Alt.

Mine sucks. Anyone know a way to change the XP theme without windows blinds? It takes too many resources and it keeps asking me to buy it.

arethiel: no need to use Grab on a Mac; apple key + shift + 3 gives you a full screenshot, apple key + shift + 4 gives you cross hairs which you drag to select an area and the pic is taken when you release. Both of these save as a pdf file on your desktop by default (I have an applet installed to auto-convert to a jpg) or you can copy the shot to your clipboard instead by adding "control" to the above key combos. :)

At first I had a picture of my dog, Lucky

Then it was a picture of Big Ben

And now it's Harry Potter

I'm really undecisive. I can't really stay with anything.

Ack... I meant AppleScript, not applet. :P Here's the code and how to use it if you're interested (to auto-convert screenshot pdfs to jpgs):
