The perspective is not doing you any favours at the moment. We can see the underside of the shart who is below the water, but we can see the top of the water.

At this rate it would make more sense visually if the shark was floating over the boat.

I love the way you've illustrated the shark though

I think it would work better if it were a view from underwater. We can see the bottom of the boat and the silhouettes above water and the girl reaching for the partially submerged balloon?

I thought a lot about that idea and concluded that I don't possess the skills to do it effectively, so I went this route. i'm trying to fix the shark so it looks more rotated. The "belly" color actually runs up the sides of the shark. Thanks so much for telling me that though, when I work on something for a long time I kind of lose sense of everything.

Also the placement will be, shark in the lower right, on a shirt the color of the water, and the light cream will be a semi-circleish shape faded out, in the center of the shirt. if that at all makes sense

that bit of sky seems a bit bright and over powering I think I would tone that down a bit, the girls arms also seem a bit off, the reaching hand would seem more normal if her palm was facing down a little in my opinion and the other would be a bit more bent

I worked on the sky (added another color), I completely agree. I'm between classes at the moment without a mouse but I'm going to attempt to fix the arm later. I did this all in illustrator which I am slightly regretting now. Thanks everyone for the advice!

Added some splashes for drama and made the balloon a little more animated. Still messing with the clouds. I made the hand slightly bigger and didn't redraw it, all the hands I tried looked awkward. I think I'm going to submit it soon

I like the half circle of sky as seen through water. I think you should complete the full circle.

Thanks, I'm working on making the bottom a little more round. Any thoughts about the placement? Should the shark be in the center, or on the back? I was always planning on the right side.

The string of the balloon is bent at an unnatural angle. Perhaps try tilting the balloon the other way, and having the string in an "s" shape. Might help add some movement!

I changed the string a little bit. Thanks for your comments! This is the most artsy thing I've ever done, I just hope to keep getting better, and all of you helped with that. I haven't submitted yet, so if there are any last minute details, feel free to share; I'm going to work on the template tomorrow morning
