Yep, I think it was yesterday. shimala said that when they became aware of the photo they bought the rights to it.

Still, should the so called "threadless designer" be rewarded with the prize money for their unoriginal ripped off designs. I think it's ridiculous. How hard is it to make something remotely close to your own idea without copy and pasting?

Ok. So he traced a photo, which is a commonly accepted and practiced custom. It would be a valid copyright infringement if the artist put that specific photo directly on the shirt, but he vectored it instead, making it his own artwork. As far as originality, of course it is unoriginal, but personally, if it is a nice-looking shirt, I'll buy it. Once again - this is NOT a copyright violation. Thanks.
