i cant wait to bug you every five minutes for directions

LOL... ask away! I may open a booth.

Oh, and if you're trying to get to the new threadless store from the Motel, walk down the street to the White Castle, cross and stand in front of the car wash. The Clark Street bus stops there. It's a long ride, but you get to pass through Andersonville, a cool Swedish-heritage neighborhood that is gentrifying (I'll probaby be sitting in a bar there watching the baseball game so I'll try to remember to wave as you go by), and you'll pass by Wrigleyville (or I'll be sitting in my favorite bar THERE, so, again, the wave thing) and you get to pass by Wrigley Field. When you get to the intersection of Clark and Halsted (there's a big Sports Authority store there, as well as a mall, get off hte bus and walk east to Broadway. Walk a half block south and... voila. Threadless store.

Torakamikaze
   Torakamikaze on Jun 19 '07 at 5:49pm
not sure.... but after reading the most recent review im a little hesitant:

Ugh, nothing like sleeping in a place that’s one-step above sleeping in your car in an unsafe parking lot. The Asian guy at the front desk could barely speak any English, the white guy that works overnight was rude and a racist, the manager is was of no help, if I had the choice to stay there, again I would not. I had a room that smelled of mould, I had no hot water, and was next to really noisy people, the hallways smelled like cigarette smoke and all night there were people in the parking lots screaming or shouting or playing loud music, I called the front desk three times asking for them to call the cops. They didn't do anything. I was out of there after that weekend, I would've went to a respectable chain motel like a super 8 except that there's none closer than this god-awful place. If you're looking at the Super 8 chicago/rosemont/o'hare thing, that's kinda far away from the action. You'd have to take a long blue line train ride back into the more populated part of the city and if you're out partying, you have to keep in mind the long ride back.

As for the hostel thing, I didn't know it was there, but I know the area. I used to live on Winthrop street, about seven or eight blocks south of that. It's a nice area, a few street people hanging out. A great coffee shop right down the street with wi-fi. About two blocks away from the lake and a short walk from the beach. And close to public transportation (el train or buslines).

not familiar with the Travelodge downtown.
Torakamikaze
   Torakamikaze on Jun 20 '07 at 11:38am
its all good ska... we can handle longer rides. Its a shame your hotel suggestions didnt work out, those woulda been convenient. And as for hostels... theyre nice and cheap and all... but I dont think everyones up for the hall bathrooms and such

we'll manage. O'Hare area was kinda our last resort... which it obviously came down to since we were runnin outta time

All about me

"This newly upgraded version of Torakamikaze comes equipped with superior facial hair growing powers, enabling him to always look dark and mysterious. By utilizing the Earth's gravity, each one of his facial hairs is pulled outward at a very precise angle using a formula that is far too complicated for your puny mind to understand. In addition, starting with Torakamikaze version 3.7, all current Torakamikazes come equipped with bitchin' sunglasses and trend-setting hoodies, guaranteed to make members of all sexes and species swoon when passing him on the street.

BONUS FEATURE!!! This Torakamikaze contains a brand new ability to connect to the Internet via an ethernet port located in the back of his neck. Now you can download new programs and features to your Torakamikaze as they become available. The default programs included in this Torakamikaze include karaoke singing, hair grooming, break dancing, and cow tipping!"
