about T-Shirt Plague
I was driven by my boyfriend to threadless and we made a work plan, we talked about some topics and I choose the "spiritual" above others like "cartoon" "fantasy" "pin up" "monsters". With the word "Spiritual" comes a rain of ideas, what do I think when I hear that word? I am not religious but I like mythology very much, I searched for Gods, greek, mayas, egyptian, the main cultures were very appealing in this process, but a little before I worked in a ukiyo-e wook so the style captured me, and I was already a japanese fan so it was almost natural when I decided to look for japanese things. I took the samurai figure and looked at the helmet face, it was rich in strenght and fear and I loved it. Then I found something about demons and gods, I wanted a strong God, one that I could rely on, that's why I choose to work with the face of Daikijin, The Great Devil God. I like to feel protected, to think that I can do anything and I wanted to think that something I would wear had that. I wanted to carry an amulet to say it that way, and this t-shirt may look aggressive but this mask protects, I read that in some rituals people used the oni mask to protect themselves from the evil spirits, I guess they scare them with the furious expression of the mask. That's it I want to wear my Daikijin protector soon. You must be logged in to leave a comment.
