Vonnegut and Little Miss Sunshine?

I haven't seen Little Miss Sunshine yet, but I noticed that one of the characters is named "Dwayne Hoover." (This is the son character who has taken a vow of silence.) Dwayne Hoover is a character in Kurt Vonnegut's book Breakfast of Champions, and I was wondering if anyone who'd seen the movie, (or hasn't), knew if there was a connection there? I haven't read anything about the character that is an obvious tie to the Vonnegut character, but the name made me curious.

Um I've seen the movie but I haven't read Breakfast of Champions, so I wouldn't know if there was a connection there.

However, Dwayne (in the movie) was a fan of Friedrich Nietche. I don't know if that has to do with anything at all.

I have done both. It was really cool to see the connection between my favorite book and my favorite movie. I can't really find a connection between the two.

don't know if this helps, but the character's last name is not actually Hoover. Dwayne's full name is never mentioned in the movie. However, he was from a previous marriage of Sheryl's, unlike Olive, who's last name is Hoover. I love that movie.
