I'll Sleep When Your Dead is a great album. Also check out his High Water. Anything from Definitive Jux is pretty good. Aesop Rock's new album None Shall Pass is a large return to his earlier albums. He still inspires me artistically more than any other artist I've listened to. If you don't have Labor Days, get it, the man weaves words like no other. Cannibal Ox's old release The Cold Vein is really good too.

Madlib will blow your mind if you want strong beats. Beat Konducta Vol 1–2 is my favorite recent album of his. He produces a million and one other people, but J-Dilla and MF Doom are probably the two you should check out.

Get some Blackalicious, Latryx, anything by Quannum Projects, Deltron 3030, Handsome Boy Modelling School, Herbaliser.

For older stuff, definitely Ultramagnetic MCS, or Kool Keith in any of his guises, particularly Dr Octagon.

Boogie Down Productions was originally composed of KRS-One, D Nice, and DJ Scott La Rock. DJ Scott La Rock was murdered on August 27, 1987, after the release of BDP's debut album Criminal Minded. The name of the group, "Boogie Down", derives from the alternative name for The Bronx section of New York City.

KRS is the man
