PC or Mac?
I ask because, after 5 years of loyalty to my imac G5, it's become apparent it's time for an update (ie the price to fix it after it crapped itself a fortnight ago, equals roughly the price of a new entry level imac) so the burning question, stick to mac's or go back to PC's, and if a mac, is it worth the extra 3 grand to get a mac pro? I'm especially interested to hear of anyone who uses a mac pro/power mac - and whether they thought the investment was worth it, as apposed to just getting another imac which will inevitably need to be replaced in another 5 years...

what the critics are saying: “garbage, what'd this take to draw? 5 minutes? 6? ;) 5$” – d3d "you're like a cross between rockslide and jublin...but much prettier" - Staffell “This design is soulless and trite. Go cuddle with your stuffed animals, you future soccer mom.” - theequalizer "This submission is the creative highlight of what has so far been an otherwise uninteresting month. It totally deserved the $5, and I have high hopes for it." -CuteLittleFaery "Woohoo..you go girl! $5 of course!" - GallyAl "Yay my comment made it up there woohoo!! again." - GallyAl "one of my fave subs since I've been scoring ... 5$ yeah, this will be printed ... gilly is a neat girl" - msm "high quality stuff again. go you aussie..." - wainwrightmedia.com thanks for your support guys! :p |
From an ecological standpoint I would still prefer having a separate screen because the screen is probably the one component that might be used the longest. I don't like the idea of throwing the screen away just because I need more processing power.
Mac vs. PC... I have been working with both for years (at home I am using both). I actually don't care much. The important thing is software and all that Adobe stuff, for example, exists for both.
