I'm going to give him a chance to explain even though it's pretty obvious... but if he doesn't post anything by the afternoon I'm taking it down.

The original is a a digitally edited photo. The one shown here on Threadless is a drawing/illustration. There is a big difference between the two. I dont see what the big problem is. Its just as different and similar to the original desing, like Predicament is. If it was a photograph on the shirt, then i would call it copying. But as is, its not crossing the fine line of copyright laws, as far as im concerned.

I think it's a little too close for comfort, myself. I hate copyright issues....



At least that's one thing none of my designs will be accused of. I run so fast when even the slightest copyright issues comes up that I couldn't stand to submit anything like that here....

By the way, this guy had one of his shirts printed a while ago. Maybe's he's out of ideas (and money) and trying to get a shirt printed again by copying very nice designs...

it's just a vectored (maybe, too small to tell) repro of the other artist's print. i mean, how hard would it have been to find a copyright free body and boombox in a google image search and make one 'based off the idea'? not that any object substituted for a head is original really anymore anyway.....

oh, and add some napolean dynamite style font to it...that'll cover your tracks.

Nope, the original artist is Mauro Gatti, the imposter is some Russian guy or something..

Now if it comes back that this is the guy that originally created that art for the Brain Box then that would be just ducky.

i'm not defending plagarism, if this is....but maybe the original is his own work.....i couldnt see right away who did the original...only because he has another little alien guy in a previous sub, that is also a close variation from that link.....

i'm just saying, dont jump the gun...

read the blog, I've mentioned the original artist before. It's not him and we're not jumping to conclusions. And he has done it before so I don't believe that any of his work is actually his own...
