I'd really recommend Greece too. A few Greek islands would be wonderful. Santorini is lovely, as is Naxos.

damn it, I'm leaving London on the 23rd.

As for places to go, eh you can give wales a miss, you've been in the northwest and its not a whole lot different (ok cardif is but apart from that theres not a whole lot to see), I say go to amsterdam or the The Netherlands in general or you could head over to eastern europe my parents just got back from Prague, Bratislava, Budapest & Vienna and they loved all of those places, hell of a lot of history and a lot of awesome things to do.

bulgaria is so fun to say! when will you be there?

ahh bad timing, phil. :( yeah cardiff looks cool in pictures. i've been to amsterdam, prague, budapest, and vienna and liked them all. prague and budapest are among my favorites.

I'll be in Bulgaria May 15th-29th, after a short stop (like, fewer than 48 hours) in Paris.

if you like drinking and sausage go to germany. everyone there is drunk all day. this is based on a single day in munich which appeared to be some kind of festival, but possibly wasn't. although there was fireworks.

oh too bad, i'll be in london and sweden during that time. will you still be traveling after you leave bulgaria?

definitely going to germany. not for the drinking and sausages necessarily, but i didn't get a chance to go the other times i've been to europe. plan on going to berlin and munich.

jet approves
jet approves on May 08 '11 at 11:46pm
this will be my 4th time. i probably should have gone to asia or somewhere else instead but i wanted to see friends i haven't seen in a year. i went for about a month when i was 15 on a group trip, then for a week or so when i was 17 on a school trip, and then lived in england for a semester last year and traveled some then.

Don't let any Welsh people hear you say that, Phil! If you go to Wales, you can see the longest train station name in the world.

I head back home on the 29th.

Should be an adventure. First time in Europe, and I'm spending most of my time in Bulgaria, an American tourist haven if ever there was one.

For an authentic Finnish/Swedish working class experience, take a ferry cruise from Stockholm to Finland. Tax-free booze! Karaoke! Cheesy lounge singers!

Go to Ireland. Find a hill (not too steep), and roll down it.
I've wanted to do that all my life.
Silly...yes. Original...nah.
Enjoyable...

...let me know. I'd say so.

I typed out an answer yesterday and it got lost which kinda sucks.

Short answer is: you have been to the countries I've been to so I can't really recommend anywhere new (except maybe Malta?) first hand. But, I've always wanted to go Germany to Sweden or vice versa via Copenhagen. It just makes sense, so don't cut Copenhagen out.

There's an über small town on the edge of Niedersachsen I liked quite a bit called Wolfenbüttel. It has a really good ice cream place.

morkki & goto- why would you or would you not recommend the ferry cruise?

jeremy- i will do my best to roll down a hill in ireland while drinking an authentic german beer.

sam!- i love ice cream. that sounds delicious.

mr vela- i really want to make copenhagen work. if it's not too expensive from uppsala/stockholm and then to get to germany after then i'm going to make it happen.

Baker Street is good for me - and that's what matters, right? I'm including Aled in these drinks too, if he ever decides to come back from the US.

I'll look in to a good place to meet :)

The trip it self is rather nice - beautiful archipelago and Stockholm is best seen from the water.
The problem will be your fellow ship mates :D
No, I don't know. I have only done the trip ones and all I remember is a lot of drunk people, mostly old people. But this was over ten years ago and maybe things have changed.

Jet Approves there's no doubt in my mind that you'd be an impala. Running around the jungle getting your ass bitten by Lions. Dude, have you ever watched videos of impalas getting their asses bitten by lions? They get their limbs torn off! it's crazy! Anyway, you'd be an impala, but don't worry, we'd be homeys, if someone got too close, I would roar and make them cream themselves in fear. We would just chill in the jungle at the watering hole and ejaculate into the river to screw with the crocodiles and get the hippos all flustered.

Mike4507 on Mar 01 '09 at 10:17pm
Jeanette I would take you to the beach and we would leisurely stroll along the water, but then a jellyfish would come out of the water and sting you. Luckily I have strong arms and I carry you to the hospital. But they are all out of anti-jellyfish cream. So I use my own urine to make you feel better. It would be awkward for both of us but it would be a great story to tell our kids. Because we would get married afterward.
