yeah. after all the debate about what it would mean, i think the commonality is 'designing what YOU like/wear and not giving a fuck'.

if what you end up designing looks like old stuff, whatever.

i think it was an attempt to stop catering to an imagined audience, trying to please everybody, or emulating past winners- but there's something to be said for collective subconscious and similarities.

it's an expirement in the human nature of designers, at any rate.
