You'll see some new Guys tees from this week's launched listed as "Fine Jersey tee" . We are testing out a different type of shirt with lots of similarities to American Apparel. Fine Jersey is the same type of cotton used for American Apparel tees.

You can find more about the measurements on our size chart: www.threadless.com/sizechart . The measurements on this particular tee type are a bit smaller than the American Apparel tees, however this tee is preshrunk so you should expect little or no additional shrinkage. After a round in the wash, the sizing will be about the same as your AA tees.

We'd love to hear what you think of them!

I was a comfortable guys large in Threadless brand tees, but guys large AA tees are too long and don't shrink. Would I be better off with a medium fine jersey?

assuming the size chart is correct, it seems the fine jersey shirts should be shorter than AA, which is good.

the Fine Jersey shirts ARE a bit shorter than the AA, but they seem to fit the same in every other way (at least in the Guys shirts). Haven't attempted a wash and dry yet, so I'm not sure how they will shrink. hmmmm...

i've never liked the necks on AA shirts, either. they're too small. it's like being choked by a cloud.

So these ones aren't the fine jersey tee that appears on AA's website, they're a different brand?

Who makes them? And where?

I'm not super-concerned about whether they're made overseas but there was a lot of concern about sweat shops when the Threadless tees were first released but I think those fears were put to rest. But I would like to know now where these ones are made and whether the conditions are kosher too.

i hope that they aren't much shorter. unfortunately it is difficult to find that shirt that satisfies everyone. my biggest problem with the former Threadless brand shirts was that when i washed them they ended up to short. However, the AA shirts actually are a perfect length after a wash for me personally. I will be interested to see how the fine jersey fits before and after a wash. i'm glad to see Threadless is always trying to find good options for everyone!

fine jersey sounds so soft.
I don't bother to realize if I've bought are AA shirts, I just order.

@squatterjohn - not sure about all that yet since it's new for me too, but i'm sure if you emailed service@threadless.com they'd be able to answer those questions for ya.

@jstumpenhorst - totally! it IS hard to find a shirt that's a good fit for every body type, but hopefully these ones won't shrink up too much. I never put any of my shirts in the dryer...haha...(you should see my place on laundry day...shirts hanging everywhere). but maybe we could do a wash/dry test with one of them and report back. i will look into this. i know we did that for the v-neck that we printed.

Isn't Fine Jersey from AA aswell? :)

I'd be amenable to the change, so long as they hold up better on the seams than the AA shirts do. Mine always unravel after a few wears... I love the fine jersey though.

cool beans. could you also start printing less shirts in 3X? fat people don't deserve to wear threadless.

That's cool, although it concerns me that they're "a bit shorter than the AA" because the main problem with the Threadless tees was their shortness (also inconsistent sizing).

I'm usually a perfect medium and large seems too sloppy. However, one accidental trip in the dryer has turned many of my Threadless-made med. tees into tank tops. :( I've never had that problem with an AA men's medium.

I too anxiously await the results of your wash/dry test!

I think I have some non-threadless shirts that are printed on fine jersey, I'm just trying to remember how short they get.

I also wouldn't like anything shorter.

hmm.. i started to like AA again.

can't wait to try the new jersey tee. i usually shrink my shirts on purpose, so i'm curious to see how this will be like since it's preshrunk. :)

I don't think that fine jersey's are too too much shorter, guys. if I'm thinking of the shirt that I believe is printed on it.

i'm a pro at shrinking shirts accidentally so I often buy a size up in preperation for the first run through the laundry, i'm intrigued to see how a preshrunk shirt holds up for me

i would happy to give one a test drive if you need some real world results! ;)

Sounds very cool. The threadless tees have hit and miss for me but AA are awesome.

I've been a little disappointed with the threadless shirts twisting (the side seams don't stay on the side) and the stitching has come out on some of my shirts. Hopefully this will fix these problems!

I used to browse the Threadless website longingly. I say longingly because I could never order a shirt. I tried the AA and threadless shirts, but they just didn't fit well. But then I tried this new shirt (Homework Evidence). I love this shirt. It fits great. This is a definite keeper.

BTW, you need a way to sort shirts by the type of shirt it's printed on. Right now, if I want to find a shirt printed on a "fine jersey T," I have to check each shirt. A filter to just bring up those shirts would be great.
