Fast Food - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More We've got some work to do now - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More Beauty and the Beast - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More Hello Cruel World - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

These kinds of designs are mind boggling to me. Not just these designs, but these are good examples. They are all masterfully crafted. These represent a quality of work I can't begin to comprehend. It's actually quite embarrassing to submit some of my designs after seeing some of these. Good job to these artists, and others who submit the same quality of work.

They are technically fantastic, but remember it's not always intricate illustration with amazing detail that wins. Sometimes simple is better.

I wouldn't bother comparing my stuff to their stuff, since I know that kind of work is beyond me. Just concentrate on being as good as you can be at what you do.

look at stuart defending his right to barely draw anything. makes me sick.

You know -- beauty and the beast REALLY sets the standard in my eyes -- cause I've been using watercolor's heavily in my work recently, and I have no idea (even after looking at the WIP blog) how any of that was done.

I'm pretty good at not being able to draw.

What bramish said.
Some of my favourite shirt have an astounding well thought out simpleness. In a way, doing simple well is harder. you've nowhere to hide.

Yeah, listen to Leon, he used to suck and now he's so-so.

And yeah, I for one very much prefer attention to detail than lots of detail, people tend to look at highly detailed illustration and think that's the best there is cause it surely takes a lot of time and it's really hard to do and there's lots to look at; but not so seldomly these designs have pretty stagnant compositions, weak concepts, boring colors, etc.

Of course that doesn't mean that lots of detail and attention to detail can't go hand in hand.

Oh, and I'm not talking about the designs you posted, just in general

i'd love to see more really simple designs like skunk 2 and operation needed, but it's hard to get one past the voters.

I think generally voters need to know that there will be a certain amount of ink involved to justify the price and the act of purchasing said shirt.

All about me
I am a 20-something year old guy currently attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design as an Illustration Major. I'm usually quite shy -- so internet forums and the like are great for me because I can hide behind my computer. I love Questionable Content and the character Hannelore.

I love Threadless, and I even founded the Threadless Meet-ups with a simple blog. I made a few designs that scored 'ok' -- but I had them cleared to start fresh. If you send me Street Points, I will love you forever. I sometimes find myself bothering Charles Festa whenever I visit Threadless HQ -- he's just a cool dude.
