I finished this Illustration today, is an idea that I've had for a while now, I'm not set on the colors or if I should leave the white border around it, any suggestions about:

1) Color
2) Border
3) Position on shirt
4) Name for the submission

are welcome, thank you.

Hey, I decided to critique your work because whenever I post something to be critiqued I only get like 2 responses... it's very frustrating.

Anyhow,

1.) I like the color, makes me think of the whole, pink elephant drunken-ness connotation. Which can be positive or negative depending on what you're going for

2.)On black I like it better without the white border. It makes the image "pop" more.

3.)As for position on shirt, I dunno I'd have to see comps of it in different places... centered might not be so bad though.

Also, I assume you're going for the heart shape between the trunks... You might want to exaggerate the trunks in order to make a more "perfect" heart shape, if that's what you want to stand out in the design...

hope that helps!

It is a nice clean illustration, but I think it isn't very interesting. No humor, and the message (the animals are in love and their trunks are making a heart) is kind of boring.

thanx a lot for the comments, I will try to tweak the submission a little bit before submitting :)

I really like the concept and what in my opinion needs is:

1) More detail on the elephants. In many cases nice details bring to life a design, give a nice proffesional finish and will win the buyer.

2) One of the elephants should have a different posture or at least have something different. It is too symmetrical because it has been flipped horizontally like a reflection. Also people can see that as the designer being lazy .

3) Shadows are cool but no need to be again a copy of the initial shape. When you cast a shadow it is not perfect, it has distortions.

The design is as I said very nice and if you spend more time on it it will be great. It is a work in progress so now we will just have to wait and see what you come up with :)

this would be good for a collage of some sort. You've got a concept..take it further.

i think the first thing that strikes me is how much more the image becomes a deffinite focal point with the border. the border doesn't neccessarily have to be white either . it just somehow gives the elephants more deffinition because without it is very very simple with little or no line variation. because the width of the border is different from the rest of the line quality within the illustration, it adds.

i think in terms of detail, it really depends on what sort of message you want to convey. i think often times simple illustrations can be very successful just in the immediate effectivness of the message-to-audience (how easyily it is read). if one were to consider "spicing" up a simple illustration, my suggestion would be considering little details such as line variation and the way colors relate to each other as well as the subject matter you desire to convey.

play with your idea some more, incoporate more gesture in your line, think of details you may want to add and see if works~
