I live in Philadelphia, "in the ghetto". This shirt kind of made me cry a little bit. I know it's supposed to be funny. Haha, bullet holes and bandanas... My cousin has been shot. Some of my peers are in gangs. It seems like people get mad and make fun when people find shirts offensive... but come oon! It's not something to make fun of. I don't know why this got printed. It's tasteless! ...my opinion.

OMG! Its a SHIRT. A T- SHIRT. I'm sure threadless didnt mean to offend anyone. I guess it just offends people with absolutely no sense of humor. I think its making fun of the stereotype.

I don't think the "stereotypes" think it's very amusing.

Since when is "sense of humor" the same among everyone? If that were true, Andrew Dice Clay would still have a career.... not everyone thinks the same things are funny. Just because YOU think it's funny doesn't make it so. sorry.

My mom has diabetes. Do I think a shirt saying the words "Greetings from Fattyland" with sugar and donuts and jelly beans and IV tubes would be funny? Kinda. But I certainly wouldn't be offended. If it means that much to you, work on fixing ghettos, not pouting about shirts.

Let me know when she gets her leg amputated because of the diabetes. That should be a riot. You won't be mad if someone makes a shirt about it, would you? Cool!

No her legs aren't getting amputated. She has the most awesome blood-sugar level since she first got diabetes. She's like a miracle case. If someone makes a shirt about I don't care.

why are we telling people what they can and can't be offended by?

is it so terrible that a t-shirt happens to push the right buttons and make somebody, GOD FORBID, have feelings

Wow, it's great you don't care. On the other hand, someone else with a diabetic parent MIGHT care. But according to your argument, they should just shut, stop being offended and get the joke...

stevethegreat, you hit the nail on the head. that's all I've been saying and have said. If people want to buy the shirt, buy the thing. Who cares? But I am AMAZED at the ARROGANCE of people here telling others what they should and shouldn't be offended by. Pardon my Urdu, but who the FCUK gave them the right to dictate how someone else should feel?

"This shirt is funny. You should laugh at it. And if you don't laugh at it, you're dumb and too sensitive."

Screw anyone who says/thinks this. That's just the way that I PERSONALLY feel....

Is "ghettoes" like "tomatoes"? You add an "e". Shite, I've probaby been spelling it wrong. And what is the right terminology: There's a school of fish, a pride of lions, a flock of seagulls (I ran, I ran so far away...), but a ( ) of ghettoes?

A thug of ghettoes?

A Pampering of ghettoes?

A spray of ghettoes?

TheZedWord- North Wales is even closer i think to where i work- Abington Memorial Hospital in the ER! You ever been over here? If so, stop by sometime and ask for Evan so we can revel in our Threadless geekiness in person...that would be fun.

God, i hate the posts where people just say it's a shirt get over it and it's funny, sorry you dont get the joke. This is a discussion area, so leave if you don't wanna discuss...i am not very politically correct at all, but i think this shirt crosses the line and would take a long thought process for most people who saw it to get that it is satirical, and the satire is really unfunny and unoriginal in my opinion anyway! Like i said, Money Shot is extremely politically incorrect, but there is nothing inherently bad on the shirt but what you interpret and making fun of socitey's feelings towards signal assocaition and sex is a lot more funny than making fun of the idea of a ghetto, an word used tousually offend and label entire cross-sections of humanity. So there. Nyah!

I think this shirt sucks because A)It's Ignorant B)It can be very racist, and C) It's also not funny. I' m all for dark, off beat humor, but this is just unoriginal. It makes the wearer look like an ironic, unattached douche bag. someone who cares about no one but themselves. The ghetto is a real place, and most people who will wear this shirt couldn't fill the ocean with they're collective knowledge of the topic. I don't offend easily but i find this tasteless almost anyway you look at it. if you're going to make a "shocking" statement at least do it in a way that it's funny, or thought provoking!

I'd really have to agree with you, bizaro.

That's probably the best way anyone's put it, too.

I'm not so fond of this shirt...I live just outside of Philly, and the crisis here isn't something you can really make a funny shirt about. Suicide and religion are different -- obviously, suicide isn't funny, but FITA isn't a funny shirt. And while the shirts involving Jesus are lighthearted, religion has always been a big source of comedy, and none of them are like "haha, look at this funny torture!"

As for the people saying that disliking this shirt is wrong or a waste of time or go fix gang violence if you think it's so horrible, writing a comment on here takes maybe a minute. You can't compare that time with how long/impossible it would be to stop inner-city violence. And satire is supposed to be against the absurdities of society or those in power, not the victims.
