"Its" should be changed to "it's".

You may need toput commas before and after "somebody", since it isn't necessary to the sentence.

The elipses after "as in" are unnecessary and should be replaced with a comma.

See? Correcting people is pretty stupid and trivial when the general idea conveyed in the text is kept regardless of errors, so I would just let it go.

but i'm an enigma anyway. i was in smart classes half of the day, and 'special' classes because of my speech impediment (long gone) the other half..... that elementary school didn't know what to do with me.

i didn't learn to tie my shoes until third grade either! because i went to a private school where i had to wear those shoes that buckled.

well, that's an excuse, anyway.
tieing laces just seemed like too much trouble, too old fashioned- i just refused to learn...what with all those high-tech velcro straps freshly available on the market. plus, it was ap ower trip to just lay on the floor and kick my feet up and make my mom do it. more embarrassing when i had to ask a friend to do it....

embarrassingly i had the same problem, couldnt ride a bike for quite some time either, i think evolution wanted some drawing done. No use for thse spindly wee legs i had.

Wow. Lots o' comments. I thought you only put the apostrophe in "its" if it was possessive. Or maybe I just wanted to loose the apostrophe... ?

A simple test
If you can replace it[']s in your sentence with it is or it has, then your word is it's; otherwise, your word is its.
