They're awesome.

Actually, recently I've noticed that I only like Neighberhoods 1 and2, Haiti, and Rebellion... everything else from them is just okay. But I really love those songs.

i saw them live a few months ago and they are simply awesome. they were supported by a guy called owen who does their string arrangements and he was great too.

he's currently writing an album based on the 8 levels of divinity in dungeons and dragons... no, really.

i got to hang out with 'em last summer when they were opening for The Unicorns (my cousin's friends with them).

they're wickedly nice peeps and their music is amazing.

you guys should check out other Montreal bands like Stars ("Your ex-lover is dead" is a great song), Godspeed You Black Emperor!, The Deers, and The Unicorns (although they've broken up... two of the unicorns have a new project called Islands... check out "Flesh")

I love the Arcade Fire. Two months ago I´ve seen them live and they were f**king awesome. There were like 8 or 9 people on one tiny stage and they had 15 different instruments with them including a helmet.

So for the people out there who like the Arcade Fire as well please check out Final Fantasy. That´s the musical project of one of the Arcade Fire guys who plays the violin. He does incredible things with his violin, reminds me a lil bit of Patrick Wolf if anybody knows his music.

Funeral is an amazing album. Although, like blucow, I only really listen to the Neighberhoods 1, Haiti, and Rebellion. Unfortunately I missed them when they were in Toronto recently. I had an exam from 7-10pm that night.

I also agree with gosmiku. There's lots of other good bands from Montreal. Not a huge fan of the Dears or the Unicorns, but the Stars are good (to tell the truth I wasn't aware any of these guys were from Montreal.) Godspeed You! Black Emperor is not like Arcade Fire at all but are fucking amazing, F#A# infinity is one of my all time favourite albums.

And finally, Architecture in Helsinki's album In Case We Die is amazing, everyone should hear it, I especially like the song It's 5!.

Have loved Architecture in Helsinki for a long time. Never got into arcade fire quite as much, but still make good listening. Will definately have a relisten though.

If they don't come to Columbus for a live show, I think I will die. I've heard they're amazing live, and I believe it. I love that album oh so much.

I've been meaning to check out Architecture in Helsinki, I've heard a lot of good stuff about them.

I think it's already up on BitTorrent. Yet another reason why pirating music is so much better.

Yep, just checked. Looks like it's been available since mid-June on BitTorrent, and it won't be released until late-August in stores. Unfortunately I don't like the New Pornographers...

If you like the Arcade Fire than you definately should check out Final Fantasy (real name: Owen Pallet). He's a one man band and does incredible things with his violin and a looping pedal. I saw him live at a Vinyl Cafe show (go, Stuart McLean!) in my town a few months ago. I'd never heard anything like it before. Anyway, here's his web address. http://finalfantasyeternal.com/
