I love it, but its not my favorite. Its so depressing and yet beautiful at the same time. Every time I finish watching it, it motivates me to do something productive.

i think the sound fx they use when mom's teeth are grinding was awesome.

hair on me arm stood straight up.

there's just too many stories about drug addled wayward semi youths to call it the best or my favorite. but i really liked it.

David Fincher did The Game, Fight Club, Se7en, Panic Room and sadly Aliens 3...but that failure was not his fault. His upcoming film Zodiac looks like another winner. Aranofsky has not had nearly that kind of success.

GOSH!!!!

i was so disappointed of myself when i thought i didn't know it was David Fincher who directed it!!!!!!!!!!cause i love him!!!!!!!!!!!!

PI and Requiem were two for two in my book.

her's only done three movies so far

so, "that kind of sucess" will come as he gets more movies.

besides, the game was ok. fight club good. seven, good. panic room sucked...so he's only 50% at best.

that's like weatherman success

well thats just your oppinion of his films shirt...

id say game= good, fight club= classic, se7en= great, panic room =average thriller but good direction

and while PI and Requiem were both really good, neither are my favorites where both Se7en and Fight Club are in my top 10.

aliens 3 was a very underated film. it was excellent imo, the only part that was stupid was when ripley killed herself and right when she did the alien popped out.

now, alien 4 was complete shite.

so mister "ASS TO ASS!" is listed in the credits as "Uncle Frank"

omg i loved Requiem.. the music is really scary, especially late at night

i'm kinda cerebral by nature, so I really dug Se7en, and by association The Usual Suspects and The Life of David Gale.

I love Requiem and Pi- I have the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack and it's so effing haunting, yet I love to listen to it because it portrays the mood so beautifully.

Darren Aronofsky is in my top favorite director club (along with Tarantino and the Wachowski doods and whoever did Hotel Rwanda).

Requiem is the most powerful movie I have ever seen. Probably in my top 10. Pi is also really great. I want to see The Fountain, but haven't gotten around to it.

shirt: my point was that I was basing what I said mainly on commercial success, where you only mentioned your oppinion of the films

olli: you really like aliens 3 more than alien or aliens?

yes, requiem for a dream was very inspirational, and such a powerful anti-drug movie. The theme song is actually on my myspace, I'm a little bit of a freak. Haha, I just watched donnie darko and i hate to admit, but i didn't understand.

Ok that was dumb, all the text accompanying that is gone. anyway-

Donnie Darko.. you kinda need to watch it a couple of times. I'm in love with that movie too, hehe. I read some reviews on it- because I was kinda like... wot?! After I watched it too. The majority of the movie occurred in an 'alternate universe,' as it were, which started when Donnie started seeing Frank the rabbit (who turns out to be his sister's boyfriend, whom he shoots in the eye...). The only way to make the world go back to normal was for Donnie, the person at the center of it, to die. It's really weird, but amazing and beautiful (in that weird way), and creepy and so many other things. I dunno, maybe reading the wikipedia article will help.

You should watch Brazil if you haven't. It's an older movie by Terry Gilliam, and it's kinda mind-boggling, but not on the same level (am also in love with that movie). :)

Requiem is a great film, as is Pi. I thought Darren did a great job of doing the book to film transfer for Requiem, and it turned out much better than other adaptations I had seen.

As for putting him up against Fincher? I can't really choose here. I like them both. I like Fincher a bit more, but thats just because of Fight Club.

Yeah- I did the same thing as you two, kevin and jewstice. As soon as I heard that he was doing a film, I was like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I HAVE TO SEE IT!!! And I still haven't. I saw Borat last Tuesday. For the first time. But I'm going to make my dad buy The Fountain I think. I already have Req. and Pi.
