Hmm
This sounds kinda terrible, I mean don't get me wrong I have huge issues with the current US administration but does it kinda weird anyone else out that this was done by a non American? I mean yeah, we know, our administration is a fuckup, sorry?? Or maybe I'm just being too sensitive/defensive/reading too much into the shirt...hmm.

twix are pretty ghetto anyway. They're wrapped in gold.

Don't you love how Americans always refer to people outside of the US as 'non Americans" instead of Japanese, Canadians or, in this case, Dutch.

am I reading too much into this?

So I'm a non-american. That doesn't mean I am not allowed to say anything about it right? The US itself also has a lot to say about things that don't happen in their own country...

And ghetto twix are major bling bling

I get a littel defensive when people who aren't Americans criticize our government, same as how I can say mean things about my little sister but I have to stand up for her as soon as anybody else does. And you know, a lot of people who aren't from the US are "non-Americans." Just as I am a "non-Japanese." If you don't know someone is Dutch or Japanese, etc you can't just decide they are.

But America is the dominant superpower on this planet. We are all effected by Americas actions so therefore we are all entitled an opinion.

it's possible because somehow people have rationalizations for voting for him like "not changing the horse mid-stream" or that he's a got a certain "nice, down-to-earth, religious guy i could see myself having a beer with" kind of charisma (charisma in the max weber sense i suppose), because there's been a conservative backlash post-60s (in the era sense, not the decade), because of the overwhelming corporate media (liberal media my ass.. it rarely even delves into anything important politically anymore, just what celeb is going to jail and what attractive white female is missing) and and a bunch other cultural things weird about the US that i don't think anyone cares to have me talk about on threadless. sorry , i'm bitter.

if the US would keep it's head down we outsiders would have no reason or even inspiration to sling mud at it. Besides, what chance would a political design have of getting printed if it regarded anything but american politics?

oh yeah, in response to littlemonster...

there's a difference between criticizing the actions of a government that has worldwide consequences like creating a certain global environment and talking smack about a younger sibling because she did something like stealing a favorite shirt or said something tackless.

THESE COLORS DON'T RUN!!!!!

jk, anyone in the world has the right to criticize anything or anyone they want. our own U.S. Constitution guarantees us the right to free speech and thought, but that's not restricted just to those in America. Oh, and it's a t-shirt, for goodness sake.

If you have a head on your shoulders and you have the slightest idea of what is going on in the world, you'd know that anyone can form an opinion of something - no matter what country they reside in, once resided in, or plan to reside in in the future.

It's a t-shirt. Making a statement about the adminstration of the United States, and the president. It's allowed to say something, and it's creator should not have to reside in the country to say something about it. It's common sense.

If you live in America, what gives you the right to say something about problems occuring in other countries -- that is, if somebody in that country can't say something about yours.

haha, wow, that was really interesting, i forgot i even made this comment, actually. no, i definitely agree, bush and his administration are a huge bunch of douches and the united states does affect the rest of the world and all its citizens in a huge way. i guess more of what i was saying was that this just bummed me out a little because i took it a little too personally, that is to say i subconsciously made the assumption that the designer was not only saying something about the us government but also about americans, or well...hmm i'm not saying this very well, i guess i just worried that it was another example of people in other countries assuming that american citizens support the actions of their country. because i don't. which i realize the shirt really has nothing to do with this so i realize that was a bad assumption and that's what made me feel defensive. does that make sense?

matthjis, go to the Dutch American embassy and give yourself up, no point in trying to wiggle out of this diplomatic scandal.
US troops will invade Holland otherwise in any minute.
I'm sure governator Ahnold will be gentle on you, if not, then at least you're terminated by the Terminator.

Just because someone is what you call a "non-American"*, doesn't mean they dont have opinions on the American government. It's fucked up; we know that, they know that, and so do the T-shirts. Accept it and move on.

*United States citizens being "Americans" is actually an incorrect term, anyway, because there is North America and South America, not just the United States. So, really, if you are an American, you are a citizen of any country on North or South America.

Children, children, this is an important issue, lets think further. You are American and have a problem with a foriegner criticizing your government. Take a moment to think, please. Your country is currently invading another for "regime change." Before you complain about other people criticizing us, realize that we're bombing them.

thanks.
