I like the youtube video. But is this a social networking free to play games? Because I'm not big into that.

Oh man, I wiki'd this. I didn't see anything anywhere about them marketing the game with purchasing add-ons. That makes me 300% like this game more. I freaking hate how the fad now is free-to-play MMO's that either require you to invest an assload of time, or jump ahead by purchasing in game stuff with real money.

Oh, nevermind. I researched it more. Looks like they're going to move into the virtual currency/subscription market.

I guess I'm kind of against games like this mainly because initially they're limited in gameplay, and I guess, if you sink enough time into it then the gameplay expands, or something. But that's just it, I don't like the idea of sinking time into a game like that.

Then I thought to myself, there's lot's of games that I like that limit what you can and can't do early on in the game, but as you sink more time into them the options expand. Like pokemon, for instance. But then again, the thing about those is you're not in a massive online community, you can traverse through the world of Pokemon at your own pace without constantly being presented with other players to compare yourself to. You don't end up starting a game and leaving your house in Pallet town only to encounter like a trainer from some other server with all level 80 pokemon, right?

I guess the other thing I don't like about MMO's is, even though I'm a huge fan of playing multiplayer shooters, or action games online... When you get your ass kicked in an online action/shooter game, you know you've probably lost mostly because you suck. In an MMO, if you're falling behind, you can purchase goods and shit with virtual currency to give yourself an advantage. That's kind of grimes, I think.

I also don't like subscription fees. It's total bullshit that companies have been thinking about charging a seperate fee for playing multiplayer games on consoles now.

Definitely not social networking game. You can still play for free, you just dont get fancy clothes to wear. Thats pretty much where it ends. You only have to play for 5 minutes to start getting quests.

There is really no comparing at all either, you just get to see people running around in the same world you are in.

I guess there might be people who buy stuff to get ahead, but I have yet to encounter it. The only thing you can buy other than clothes is teleportation tokens, which allow you to teleport rather than walk manually. Not much of a deal breaker.

The social aspect is more you can see other people playing and help them out with their tasks and quests if you wish, or you can keep to yourself.

I like it a lot so far.
