I'm digging the yellow shirt. Nice job! If anything, you might want to make it slightly smaller, but either way, it looks fine.

Wheels & Blucow: I'm glad you've got an opinion on color. I wasn't even going to do the yellow version, but I know people like colors. So colors they will get! I personally would like to see a solid black and white tee on Threadless. And I figured what better shirt to do so? But both are cool.



And yeah I'm sort of pissed that the whole IFC thing just happened. This shirt called for a gun, and that's what I put in there. So yeah, I wish there weren't a gun in every 3rd shirt, but that's life I guess.

i never did like just objects layed out flat on shirts they did a few of those for the IFC contest.. i like your gas mask though.

I like the yellow version, but the design itself is very nice.

But the bird seems a bit out of place with the weaponry, unless there is something I'm not seeing. Its probably the latter.

The bird is actually a classic tattoo that dudes get on their shoulders (actually pretty close to where it is, thus why I put it there).



The funny thing is that I wanted to put a lot more stuff, but the clutter ruined the design. AND if I added more I would've had to shrink it down even more and lost some detail. It just really sucks drawing out a handful of objects down to every detail, only to not use it in the end. I hate that feeling, but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and go with what works.

Yarrr! I just went to submit it finally and it says that the file size of the preview .gif must be under 60k! This sucks, I can't find a way to show everything. Well looks like it's back to the drawing board until I get it right.

Look through the blogs...might take you awhile but I saw a post that explained how to quickly make your design fit into the KB or something. I know nothing, but I guess it's an easy fix without actually tweaking your design any.

I only know chix that have the bird (swallows) ink. I think that design would make an amazing back of shirt design.. and myabe just have the mask on the front like a crest. It's a bit much for a front design I think. Nice crispness btw

I like the zippo illustration the best, but I used to collect them. On the yellow seems cooler to me than the Black one. But the only thing I think is that right now it is just a bunch of items placed onto the shirt together. It feels like they need more interplay between items. Overall, it's very well illustrated.

Hmm... well I'd have to say that it sucks to hear that after taking so much time to place things so they're interesting (layout, overall composition, mirrored effect, etc) and not just "here's some stuff in a box"



And if maybe you didn't notice, the bombs are the "mirror" of the bird tattoo, and the zippo and the brass knuckles/knife mirrors the handgun.



I wanted it to come off as symetrical, but not. If that makes any sense. All while keeping a sense of a kolydiscopic burst from the center. It does have a slight "sticker sheet" feel to it though. I dunno.

ok, let me say this: The elements are all cool. You have done a great job of placing them to be as symetrical as possible, but they just are not interacting with each other as much as I'd like to see. The "sticker sheet" comment seems to hit what I'm thinking on the head.

ooh I just thought of this. Maybe if the elements on one side represented peace and the other side war. Or... the dove is throwing the design off by being the only symbol of peace at the moment. This is kind of sick, but if the bird had those X'd out eyes and maybe a hole throught, it might come off as a shot down dove, like another symbol of war.

Well actually it's a swallow, not a dove. And actually it's a tattoo, not a bird. But in the long run people will think it's whatever they think it is. And as much as I know what it is, I can't help it if they think WTF? So that sort of sucks.



But maybe down the road a ways I'll rethink and resubmit. Even though I'd rather not have to resubmit anything ya know?

i like it all, it's super clean and has everything i like, but yeah, they are sort of just 'arranged'.... i'd still buy it in yellow...

I do have to say again, I absolutly Love the color usage on the Yellow.

i'm generally opposed to violent images on shirts, and i don't like black tees, which means that the only thing that could justify this design was if the images on the yellow din't look cartoonish, which they do. sorry, not my favourite design i've seen on here, but whatever. I may be biased though on the accout that you claimed i simply used a photo shoppe sample duck, when in reality i spent over two hours filtering a photo i took to its present state. i would thank you to not judge others' submissions the way you wrongfully did mine, and possibly cost it some votes.
