It seems a problem I run into pretty often is making the file size for a design small enough to submit while keeping the quality. I've been sticking to .png file format because that's the smallest but I could use a few suggestions. Thanks.

Well, 250 kb is the max size for submissions. This is the design I've been working on. I've been working in illustrator. Those circles were individual until I just figured out to flatten transparency, which saved me about 20 kb (to 241 kb, just enough to submit a new critique). However, I want to add a picture for shirt placement and stuff for the official submission. So, I could use a few pointers to save some file space.

hey nice design! try to export it to jpeg first, or you can copy your design to be composed in photoshop, use 640 x 480 pix dimension and when you save in jpeg make sure on the dialog box (bottom part--file size) do not exceed 250 kb, while checking your preview and keeping the quality, basically the lower quaility the lower your file size is, just keep it adequate yet efficient. good luck!
