I went to a Tool concert last week. It was glorious. This video is from the concert I saw.

People have been saying that Maynard's voice has sucked on this tour. I disagree.

That is all.

It was soooo good. I had heard such bad things about this tour that I wasn't even excited, up until the moment they started playing. At which point I got this enormous shiver down my spine and I was just in awe.

It was an outdoor venue and there was a full moon. And the weather was perfect.

Oh boy, I'm really, really jealous! I really hope I get to see them some day.

I was going to see them in San Antonio with 2 friends but the damn tickets sold out on us =(

whisper in water on Aug 10 '09 at 2:46pm
Yeah, Tool tickets sell out way too fast, it's absurd. That's the reason that I once had to drive 8 hours to Chicago in order to see them.

tool tickets always seem to be insanely expensive, which is why i've only seen them once

You cheapass americans always complain on ticket prices.

Consider that each dollar of yours equals 13 units of ours, plus the travel expenses would have at least doubled the ticket's price (if we didn't stay at a hotel and just headed back after the show). And yet we were fully willing to spend that money. Value your geography, mang, don't be a pussy and go enjoy some concerts.

Brian just got some sass from Hector.

This is off topic, but I went to my first metal show ever (The Sword, if you can call them metal), and it made me think of my metal-loving friends at Threadless. Namely you and Hector.

what was the setlist?

Man, I missed them when they came here last week.

But everyone I know who went said it was awesome.

Ah, anna, i was talking to Chris about that a while ago. The Sword aren't really metal, but I think they're labeled as that a lot because they tend to tour (or at least used to) with metal bands.

But they're stoner rock, shich is fucking cool, so they're cool too. Not one of my fave stoner bands but I do enjoy them and would definetly want to see them live.

Brian, the setlist was as follows:

Jambi (yeah, they opened strong)
Stinkfist
Forty-Six & 2
Schism
Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
Flood
Aenema
Lateralus
Vicarious

I have seen all of those songs live before, and I get kinda annoyed that they play the same stuff at every show. But goddamn do they play it good.

canceromega on Aug 10 '09 at 3:55pm
Haha, yeah, I didn't know if I could really call them metal, but that whole show definitely had the makings of a metal concert. I got caught in a mosh pit, which was terrifying, and was kicked in the head a lot by crowdsurfers. It was actually pretty cool.
againstbound
   againstbound on Aug 10 '09 at 3:58pm
Jambi! Damn that setlist makes me cry of jealousy.

And yeah, Anna, I've gone to a few non-metal shows but but I still prefer the whole raw, metal-thing.

I'm way too old for mosh pits.

By "old" what I mean is "small and feeble." And as such, I have always been too old for mosh pits.

I used to go in "mosh pits" when they were at Good Charlotte concerts. -tears of shame- I crowd surfed in those days, too. But a couple of years ago I tried to be in a mosh pit at a Tool concert and almost died.

Evidently not, Chris, because Anna and Dom and Amy and Kayce care too. And kinda ToraSteve but not really though but still.

Harrumph.

I love The Sword.

I would consider them metal, but I can't really argue with Hector.

Haha, good charlotte =P

I'm not much of a fan of Devil Driver but they sure fire up the crowd and was really fun, I didn't expect people to get more excited/frenzied with them than Lamb of God.

lololol, I totally have the small and feeble thing going on, too. I got knocked around a great deal.

Also, i don't get people doing mosh pits with bands like Tool and Opeth, I mean it's silly to go to a Slayer concert and just stand there, but with this kind of bands I want to soak myself in the music and not miss a single detail.

I like you with cheese, I like you with eggs, I like you with legs, i like you with feet, I don't like you to eat, I like you to meet. with me on the beach, i would like to reach, out and give you a hug, because you're like a jug, of milk.....because I like milk, to drink, and I like you, to....think, with me, about...things...like you...and me...because...you're....lovely, and sweet, like meat, with sugar, on top......and...don't drop...out of ...high school or college...it will help increase your knowledge.

I only hate when you're trying to unclasp the bra and she takes a knife and stabs you in the gut and starts pulling out your small intestine.

iPear on Oct 18 '06 at 7:57pm
oh, and then there's the assholes that push you forward in line and you end up penetrating the person in front of you, TALK ABOUT AWKWARD!

all i know is that people largely are unkempt vultures who frighten small children, make dogs whine, sour milk that passes within a twenty foot radius of them, defecate in urinals, and masturbate in bookstores.

you're all tall glasses of water.

although I think deanna might be a shorter glass of water but she's just as good.

if I had manpockets, deanna, I would totally put you in one of them.

That's not supposed to sound that weird.

I wish I could threaten to physically assault your pain away, and punch you a new smile.

I would take your pain, and give it to myself, and I'd like sit on it, and suffocate it with my ass cheeks.

don't be sad, sadness is a jerk who has never had a girlfriend.

You know what I was thinking about the other day?
Why would they name a condom brand Trojan?
When I think of the word Trojan, I think of the Trojan horse and when I think of the Trojan horse I think of people (sperm) invading a city (ovum) when I really didn't want them too.

Hm?

A comma is the difference between "Alvin humped me" and "Alvin, humped me"

Chipmnk on Feb 05 '09 at 12:05am
There really is no difference between those two. The pause just gives me time to put on the condom.
