Okay, so I keep having to submit my work in .gif format because whenI try to move my files from Illustrator over to Flash, they get all jacked up. Is there some basic loop hole I should be jumping through that I don't know about?

How jacked up are they.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I'm going to continue design as a hobby. As soon as I land a well-paying job, I'll go to art school or something.

I thought you had the same problem I had with Flash, but I guess not (It had to do with design resizing...). I don't know, I guess it depends on what versions of Illustrator of Flash that you have.

I use Freehand MX, and Flash MX 2004, and there's no problem transferring files from one to the other. If you have Illustrator CS, get Freehand as well, and try to transfer your files from Illustrator to Freehand, and then save it as a Freehand file. Then take that new Freehand file, and transfer it onto Flash.

Oh, to transfer from Illustrator to Freehand, you may have to save your original Illustrator file as an .eps file, then open that .eps file onto Freehand, then save it as a Freehand file.

Sorry if this is confusing, but it's worth a shot, if no one else can help.

yea, I've had this problem before, it happens because Flash and Illustrator see vectors differently, when with Flash the drawing can be more "free" with Illustrator you have to be very "specific" about what you're doing, I've had this problem too and as far as I've researched there is no solution for it, you gotta live with what you get.

Have you tried the just copy and paste from an open Illustrator file directly to an open Flash file? Make sure in your Illustrator preferences under "File Handling & Clipboard" that you have it set as AICB and "Preserve Paths." It comes in relatively clean that way and also (for the most part) remembers group associations. Which is a BIG help if you're adjusting color in a complex image in any way.

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
