but this is derivative of a derivative. and while someone will say "all art is derivative" that's just a cop out answer excusing lack of creativity.

i like that someone did a shirt based on "particle man." i really do. i love tmbg, i love the song. however. um. yeah, this ain't doing it for me. the tiny toons fake music video of particle man captured the song better than this, and that's kinda saying something.

wow. this really sucks without color.

not that it matters much, but i'm sick of seeing the same ideas regurgitated over and over. so here's a list of boring things i'd like to see less of on threadless:

iPods
hearts
random animals with nothing else going on
guns
porn stars
drips(!!!)
clouds
cars

i'm close to adding bears (as in teddy bears) to this, too, but i've seen a couple that were ok, so it's in, like, a pending status right now.

and i know that i'm kind of a hypocrite for thinking this because my design has it too, but there's a lot of unnecessary text going around. if you took the text out of the i only wear black design, it'd just be a guy, and it'd be harder to even see that, i think, because i think the text where it is establishes the location of his legs and where he ends and whatever. but there's lots of stuff that's got text that would just look better without the text and with just the design. pictures are a lot more powerful than words.

i'm also sick of text-only designs. come on...i can do that, get a silk screen and a tshirt and do that myself. it doesn't need to be up on threadless in a design competition...hi, i found a spiffy font and a clever slogan. i know there's plenty of spiffy font and clever slogan tshirts at hot topic but that doesn't mean they belong here...
