Lichtenstein much?
I liked this better the first time around when it was only a first-generation derivative....

but this is derivative of a derivative. and while someone will say "all art is derivative" that's just a cop out answer excusing lack of creativity.

i appreciate your point of view, but you aren't sufficiently informed. myself and a bunch of other artists took it upon ourselves to design tees that were art history themed. we each chose an artist or famous artwork and did a design based on them. i chose lichtenstein and the fact that you so easily recognised it means i did an adequate job.

i suppose you could argue that because he knew that the design was lichtenstein based, that he must have had some art schooling. on the other hand, lichtenstein has been a major player in the art world more recently than some of the other artist chosen by people for this contest, soooo......no points from me.

i wasnt defending the guy, i was just pointing out the fact that he can credit a certain artists style, so yeah, he has somewhat of a background on this worlds art, on the other hand, he doesnt have a background on anything of whats going on in the threadless world

All about me

graduated from the university of redlands, johnston center. i've done some design work for bushoncrack.com and capitalismsucks.com as well as graphic and web design for various sites i've built and/or maintained. currently my wife and i are trying to use our art degrees to make our own t-shirt site, and we're using threadless as a sort of testing ground for new ideas, to find out what's out there, and what people respond to.
