Hey everybody, I wanted to get this shirt but sadly they are all out of mens shirts and I don't like the mens color too much anyways.
I was wondering if i should order a womans large, I usually wear a mens small but I like my shirts kind of slim, and if it would look funny on me or not.

oppinions?
anyone know from experience?

I was thinking about this men - woman shirt thing as well, but not in the same way as you. The new pillow fight looked really nice and I wanna get it... But blue is not the color for me. On the other hand... The girls version is that brown color which I want. I'm thinking along the same lines as you, should I get the girls version, not because it's sold out, but just because I like the brown more?

Go to like a Target or something and try on the womens' graphic t-shirts.

They are a lot shorter than mens', and tend to be snugged around the waist (between the boobs and the hips.)

My guess is that it would look fairly silly, but if you can pull it off, it's a good way to get a shirt you want.

If a girl's L would fit you, why not? No one would know besides you.

You can buy the girls tee and then go over it with a rolling pin.

I think one of the pictures of vampire orthodontics has a guy in a girls tee

If you decide to order this, definitely send in a picture, so we can all see how it fits. I'm sure it would benefit others who are debating the whole his/hers (color / out of stock) issue.

The trouble is that girly tees aren't just sized differently, the fit of the shirt is drastically different, with shorter sleeves and a curvier shape.

I agree with Wakejive though, I too think the brown shirt with the red graphic for Pillow Fight looks better.

yea sometripe is right. the sleeves are alot shorter. they hardly wrap around teh shoulders. and the shirt is made for curves so it wraps around tighter in certain spots. but i guess you never know till you try it, so if you like the shirt that much i guess go for it.

the biggest difference is the snugger fit and shorter sleeves.

although "girly" shirts are meant to be more fitted (and look less like you are wearing a pillow case) - the shirts they use here are a little fitted, but do not have drastic shaping, they're still cut fairly square

i KNOW I saw a guy in a girl's shirt in one of the galleries (can't remember which one). And the more well endowed girls still have to buy the guys shirts (because L girly would get a little too snug on anything much past a 34C).

my advice: look at the galleries and look at the fit of both girls and guys shirts, try to find the pics of the guy in the girls shirt. Go to the sizing info and see if the dimensions would work (compare guy's sizing to girls). If you don't have a measuring tape - use a ruler to mark inches on a piece of string.

I'd think it'd look fine just pair it with a nice skirt.

It's not just that the sleeves are shorter, they're a lot less wide than guys tees usually are. They might be tight on the top of your arm. I just measured one of my girly mediums and it was 5.75" across the sleeve, try asking around for someone who wears a large to measure theirs for you, or e-mail American Apparel and ask them.

yeah - listen to loserbeech. I thought about that later. I have run into girls shirts that fit in the body, but are WAY too tight in the sleeve. I don't work out as much as I used to - so it's less of a problem now, but I have one shirt I'm debating altering the sleeves because they are so tight it's painful, but it's an old concert tee I've had for years and can't replace, and can't part with.

girl's L = 7" at the sleeve opening (measured flat)

my arm is 13" around at the sleeve opening, it's fitted but not tight. (if that helps)

dude the only difference is the color (that denim crap is ugly anyway) & it'll be shorter/tighter. go for it.

The Evil King shirt has pics of a guy in a pink girly shirt:

Normally I buy girly mediums, but I bought a men's small once and it was HUGE!! Not sure about the difference between girly large and men's small, though.
