I am wondering.. what is too many t-shirts?

Currently my closest consists of 6 or 7 pairs of jeans, 4 sweaters, some random dress wear, shorts etc.

and 45 t-shirts (10 of which are threadless)

I am wondering.. what is the "limit" for a sane person. 50? 70?

I don't really know

i have 2 pair of jeans, 2 pair of shoes, 6 t-shirts, two coats, and that's about it. a sane person would argue that owning more clothes than you can wear in a fortnight is lunacy. i take it you don't do your own laundry.

Oh, well, gee, I must be insane then :P. I'm older than your average Threadless junkie, and I rarely discard t-shirts, so over the years I've amassed a collection of well over 200 tees. Threadless is a recent addiction, but even so I still have 30 Threadless tees, with 9 on the way. Threadless is indeed addictive! :D

It just depends on how much closet space you have!

I have over 100 tee shirts because i like getting vintage stuff from thrift stores, plus like 7 threadless shirts. I don't think there is a limit, you have to change it up, you can't be wearing the same thing all the time.

my closet is really small, but some how i manage to cram all this into it:

8+ pairs of jeans

2 field jackets

2 sweatshirts

4 pairs of shoes

3 or 4 dress shirts

2 pairs of dress pants

14 threadless shirts

10-20 other random shirts

...and a bunch of other crap

threadless shirts are slowly taking over my closet.

You can get a standing wardrobe from Ikea or wherever, and designate that for threadless

2 jackets

2/3 light jackets

2 pair boot

2 pair sneakers

4 pair jeans

2 pair cargos

3 pairs dress pants

2 dress shirts

4 assorted polos

and alot of t shirts i don't even wear anymore. i'd safely say 15?

i want more clothes, but i'm really picky, and it usually balances out, if i buy something new, i get sick of something old, and toss/sell/goodwill it.

standing wardrobes are great. in our new place, there are more rooms than we can handle. we have a room that's our walk in closet/dressing room. i've never been happier or more organized.

but i'm laughably anal. i have shelves instead of dressers that all my jeans, shorts and sweaters are folded on, organized by color and frequent use.

my shirts also hang by color- black-grey-white-blue-green-brown-maroon.(with a few exceptions)

i'm such a dork.

I'm not even a clothes freak, but I have probably hundreds of tees (over 200 at least), maybe well over a dozen jackets, just a few sneakers and 2 pairs of jeans which I use regularly.

you can never have too many t-shirts. i wear them until they start to fall apart (and then they are even cooler - literally, cuz they're full of holes) after that, they make great rags to wipe your car down with.

You don't have to discard them if they got holes, one of my fave tees is an old Leatherface (band) tee which is a bit skewed and got holes and paint stains. Old skool.

i have a great vintage goodwill find- maroon with a yellow print of the united states and an atom (negative space maroon) on it in an oval saying 'leading the way in nuclear energy'

not a remake, total oldschool, it's getting holes, but i layer it.

The most prized shirt I own, is a california raisins t-shirt. Not because it's california raisins, nor because it is old. It has history..

plus when it matches my 1960's Pink CCM imperial bike.

(they are both old, and WELL used)

thrift stores are great for t-shirts

so is saving ones from when you were little...

i say i must have at least......45 t-shirts in my room alone, not counting those at other peoples houses and those that i wore to death. 8 of them are threadless. soon to be more.

A dozen+ that are in the "good shirts drawer", in which 4 are Threadless.

A dozen in the "shirts I can't yet part with".

About eight plain white undershirts.

It's normal.

I recycle. Sooner or later I have a gajillion tees, many of which I stop wearing. So I go through and purge. I keep the tees I actually wear and the ones I don't go to goodwill for future generations to love and enjoy.

I wasn't a tshirt freak before threadless. I had maybe 5 thirts before...a couple of which were big ones for sleeping, and the others were for wearing while dying my hair. I was previously pants freak. I probably have around 30 pairs of jeans alone. I still love pants, but since I've discovered threadless I have only bought 9 pairs of pants. Gotta save the money for the tees.

Now that I have a bunch of Threadless shirts they're all I wear. Wearing one of my old tshirts just feels...I don't know, like I'm not living up to my full potential or something, haha.
