So I know that in the subs guide it says that a sub will get regected if it uses copywritten material on it.

I understand if a sub slips by cause it uses some really obscure picture or piece of art or something that not everyone would be aware of.

but YODA?

http://www.threadless.com/submission/43743/Yoda:_My_Favoritest_Shortie.

come on.

why would this be accepted?

well um....Dark Side of the Garden got Printed, and im pretty sure that VAder is copyrighted, and they didnt obscure anything about his image.

I think its basically if you take something (a tshirt design for example) and copy it exactly that its copywritten, I mean. Theres TONS of tshirts that are 'similar' or even have the same thing as other shirts just done slightly different.

I'm not really sure what the deal is...I submitted a design of Kermit the Frog wearing an apron that said I <3 pig, a chef hat, and cooking bacon in a skillet...and it got declined. I thought I was taking a character and putting it in a situation it had never been seen in before and in that way avoiding copyright issues...similar to Dark Side of the Garden.

But who knows...maybe there's an image of Kermit somewhere out there that looks exactly like that.

Do you really think copyright lawyers surf threadless?

Well I've got a future sumbission that's borderline copywrite material, so I'd like to know the answer too. I really don't think that it's any more "official" than Dark Side of the Garden. An official take on this would be great, cuz it's my favorite design so far.
