I'm looking at buying a remote for my Canon Xsi, because I am rather sick of attempting to get in the frame of a photo within 10 seconds each and every time I want to take one with myself in it. I'm trying to figure out what I should get and it's a little bit overwhelming. I'm looking at the RC-1, because it has the capability to do both a 2-second-delay and immediate shutter release.



As I understand, the remotes don't allow for half-button-press AF, but they DO allow the camera to AF as long as it's set correctly. I could be wrong, though (which, if I am, would be an important thing to know).

Part of me also kind of wants to get a longer-range, radio frequency one (to have the extended range and the ability to take it from out of the line of sight), though those are a bit more expensive. That's a WHOLE 'NOTHER KETTLE O FISH, however.

Anyway, I guess I'm just wondering if any of you have personal experience with this, 'cause I'm a bit of a babe in the woods as far as choosing goes.
