about Thank You
I love the design, but can't figure out what it means. as far as i can figure it's like: "We've been in existence for thousands and thousands of years, but only come up with a dozen or so haircuts (haircuts as a metaphor), I'm not too hopeful about the future."

Am I right? Cos I literally do not know at all...

I'm not sure, either. One of my friends owns this shirt and said something about the Beatles?

I don't know either, but I'm strangely attracted to it.

The Beatles? I'm guessing there's no huge meaning behind it.

Those all do look like haircuts the Beatles had at one time or another...

This is my favourite Threadless shirt.

I suppose it means that all of these people think that their futures will be boring, or that the future of society as a whole will be. Collective despair. We're all stuck in dead end jobs, going nowhere.

Ya think? Then why are there only blackhaired people on it?
I thought that this shirt was referring to all of the people dying their hair black and getting all of those emo-haircuts.Obviously there is no end in sight for this "era" consequently the future is boring.
But maybe I´m totally wrong with this interpretation..

reminds me too much of a ROLLING STONES album cover that took a wig ad, and repeated thier faces in them about 16 times...just like this...hmm.

As I recall, the designer was just at a loss as to what text to put at the bottom and decided that "Thank you" sounded nice. It doesn't really mean anything. Any and all interpretations are valid.

Oh wait, sorry. "Thank you" was the original text. I didn't realize that they changed it to "The Future is Boring" when it got printed. Interesting.

I preferred the original design when it said "thank you" instead of "the future is boring"... and then they printed it on heather gray!!

I prefer "The future is boring". Maybe it depends on whether you're a half-full or half-empty person.

Kettcar, I thought there are only black haired people on it because it looks better stylistically. And maybe to keep it under 4 colours. I don't think these could all be described as emo hair cuts. It looks like a fair cross section of young people to me.

Yeah is it just that everyone's getting emo haircuts in the future--not much diversity, hair-wise?

I think it's jsut that evereyone's the same & everyone's following the crowd.
There's nothing to look forward to, cuase no one or nothing will ever change.
The future will be boring if this continues.

But we're the renegades, the Threadless crowd doesn't follow the crowd.

Yea baby.
