HA HA! i don't have much else to do. the upside to my crappy job is that i have internet...

but i agree. alot of the shitty comments come from people with hidden profiles, not surprisingly, or people who rarely submit -if ever. there's a gang of a few good people who submit regularly and critique constructively. every once in a while we stilll call shit shit, though.

I havent submitted yet but i talk about random stuff as im kind of stuck in the house at the moment and cant cast spurious accusations in the pub.

sometimes i comment on tees, but most of the time i can't be bothered. there are too many "Below par" designs in the running, and it's disheartening and boring to comment on all of them telling them how to improve. now i just comment on designs i really like, or ones that need minor adjustments.

my first two sucked ass, until i caught the threadless wave- if i'm even there yet. what sucks is my friend turned me onto this site for the $2005 competition in january, and i just blindly submitted stuff not even knowing what previous submitted or winning shirts looked like...they're embarassing to me now...

Yeah dont worry about it, as long as you enjoy yourself doing it i wouldnt worry about it, some people seem to click straight awa others not so much but if you cant just enjoy the process whats the point.

I'm with Jaycee...I have time to comment in the blogs when I know I'll get some response, but I'll only comment on a tee if I think I have something to say or respond to. Take comments you receive with a grain of salt unless you know the person, and then take them by the pound of salt...

well to tell the truth " i like it" is not a valid comment to me. I would rather someone says "i think this is crap, and heres's why blah blah blah" just to have people say they like your stuff all the time is just design masturbation. I ask that you guys comment on my stuff because i want to know how to make better shirts. Now some of you are just full of crap so ill just discrad those comments :p

Fair enough to that, I tend not to comment about designs as i havent submitted yet and people don't tend to take to kindly to that if you start giving them shit, but then again they seem to take it personally either way. Really i prefer to hold on for shirts that in feel are close to getting my money but need that little nudge.

In all respect I certainly dont dislike your design but i dont feel strongly enough to say i like it either, however i will say that the style the fire is drawn it givee the impression that it is viewed from some distance, perhaps a hill looking don on a large fire but the outer edges add restriction as if it is in a cave and these two perspectives are too contradictory to me. Hope this is useful.

well accually the only real fire is the yellow and the rest is smoke lit by the fire. but thats off the subject. Its always a little dificult to remove yourself from a design that you know exactluy what it is and think how other people will look at it, but sometimes other peoples interpretation is part of the fun too.

I can appreciate that, there have been many times where i have created an image thought it was fantastic and then gone back after several months, thoroughly detatched and thought it was awful.
