I have the Star Wars Episode IV manga. Its interesting looking at basically a shot for shot copy but all backward from how it is in the movie because when they translated it they flipped it so it read left to right in English.

jebbie is not ignorant. i was asking for mangas not animes.

neon genesis is good though
and chobits.

are there mangas of these?

anyway i decided to go and get first bleach book (i know it's an anime too)

I really enjoyed the neon genesis evangelion mangas even more than the anime IMO. Also FLCL is a manga as well as an anime, and if you haven't seen the anime I would definitely check it out.

Also Yoshihiro Tatsumi has some unique manga novelettes (Abandon the Old in Tokyo, Good-Bye.) They're pretty good albeit really depressing.
Goldendust
Goldendust on Nov 06 '09 at 3:49am
Chobits is definitely a manga. It's so pretty.

Other manga I have read some of from the library:

Ah! My Goddess (or Oh my Goddess)
Tsubasa Chronicles/XXXholic... they run together and are unfinished so far
Card Captor Sakura (so different from the tv show)
Pet Shop of Horrors (really odd)

I know there are others I have read a bit of... but I can't think of them right now.

well, as a big mangas fan, i'd say that for me the best 2 ones are easily: Cowboy Bebop and Samurai CHamploo...faaaaaaaaaaar away ahead the others. Jebbie, if you didn't see them, find a way to do it, because you'll won't regret ;)
Jebbie
Jebbie on Nov 06 '09 at 7:03am
i heard card captor sakura is better as a manga.

and i have read a little of oh my goddess but not a lot.

i like cowboy bebop anime so much i dont want to ruin it by reading the manga and either being devastated with the series, or with the manga ;-;

also i have heard good reviews on beserk?

If you havnen't read Nana, it's really great. :) It's not too girly and it's full of drama and tragedy which is always a good read. Also, Gantz is a KICK ASS manga to read.

I agree with Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind- the manga is even better than the movie. I also dig The Sandman: The Dream Hunters and Persepolis but those are more in the graphic novel category.

If I traveled to Australia to confront my fear of everything that kills you (where better to confront such a fear?) I imagine Jebbie would lead me around with a machete in her hand saying adorable quirky things the whole time.

Jebbie, your spirit animal would probably be an Otter. Why? Well, because Otters can break clams and bricks and woods on their chest, who wouldn't want to be an otter with iron boobies? You swim around in the water, throwing up gang signs because the seagulls know that they best not ocme around your territory or you'll fucking punch them so hard that they'll never be able to have an orgasm, ever. All the humans would be like "look at that otter, breaking shit with it's chest, I jsut want to pet it" and they'd forget you're a wild animal, so when they bend down to pet you, you'd gnaw their finger off, and then spit it back at them, therein blinding them and making them bleed so your homey the shark can come out of nowhere and eat the crap out of him. You're such a good friend, helping out your homey the shark.
