How would you Define the word "Cooties"?

I used this word with a friend from Turkey, she said what does it mean... I said ask some one else. Week later she says: I ask what is "COOTER", now that is lost in translation!

So... Define Cooties for me please!

To my Turkish Buddy this is why I say the American use of language leads to ambiguious and vauge statements. Each word or phrase could mean multiple things

Thank you Threadless.com for teaching Jeff and Pinar the difference between, "Cooties" and "Cooter", we learned a good lesson about interpreting the American version of the English Language....BTW: Pinar I still have Cooties and no I will not drink your Chocolate Milkshake.... due to Cooties!
