When I was asked to do a Select shirt, I really wanted to design a tee that reflected what I was doing in my painting and drawing at the time. I used the classic "ribcage/skeleton shirt" as my inspiration, and assembled shapes and marks into a somewhat recognizable representation of the human torso. While, I admit the design is not very "pretty" I hope the shirt and companion poster illustrate the concept that we are all made of the same stuff. Hope you can dig it, I had fun making it.

I love the shirt, it's gorgeous! But uh...it's ummm...backwards. Notice that the heart is on the wrong side? Otherwise awsome!

i don't know what you mean when you say it is not "pretty".. i think it's gorgeous...
but i can't get the idea of being made by the same stuff by seeing it (maybe i need a better view of it to understand it).
finally, for what i know (and my addition to the discuss) heart is in the center of chest.

The overall concept was really more for my benefit in moving forward with the design. hopefully, the designs will be enjoyable regardless of making that connection

o.O i think the heart is in the wrong place. it's a misconception that the heart is on the left side but it's not. it's in the middle--behind the sternum--and then it sort of go to the left. but it's not completely on the left side. so all in all, the heart isn't in the right place. buuuuut. i do like the design! i think it's been beautifully done.

This design really knocked a block out my a design I'm working on right now. I'm doing a lot of layering for a sub and I wasn't sure I could make it work on a shirt. Which would suck. But seeing this really proves to me that it can be done, and done well. Amazing work. I'm going to buy this for sure on Friday at the store.

the heart is backwards, but who cares! great designs should look good left right upside down and backwards.

I'm really glad threadless got you to make this shirt matt, I absolutely love your work and look forward to purchasing your art for my studio once I can afford it.
