Do you have any ideas for a good wedding present for someone who doesn't have a registry? Married people, is there anything you could have used when you were first starting out but that you forgot to include on your registry?

My husband and I were already living together, so we didn't need anything by the time we got married. If the couple has never lived on their own before, a big box of 'essentials' would be awesome, like laundry baskets, dustpan, bath towels. It's amazing how toilet paper just appears out of nowhere when you're still living with mum and dad, and what a shock to the system when you're now responsible for it yourself.

That's a good idea. I only have one roommate but I never seem to have enough towels.

I don't think it's possible to have too many towels.

That includes dish towels, too.

dual dishwashers

Because nobody likes putting dishes away or washing them by hand.

I can't see the link yet here at work so I'm guessing that dual dishwashers allow you to switch off on the dirty/clean dishes without ever having to put them in the cabinets. I approve.

The best gift I heard of for couple getting married, was my sister's best friend - the bridesmaids and ushers got them a sea kayak.

Maybe not the most practical, but still pretty awesome. Maybe you could club together with friends and get them a tandem bike?

A tandem bike is brilliant! Now going to check out how much one costs...

Yeah towels are nice. Guys never seem to like to hang them up so when it's time to dry of theres no dry towels cause they're all on the floor wet :/ boys are dumb.

Hrm.. I'd say chipping in with friends for a big gift like the kayak would be a great memorable thing they could share and get use out of.

I always give a nice bacon press - I have given probably 7 bacon presses to couple for their weddings - it is something that no-one ever buys for themselves and is really quite handy

wrinkled bacon does not cook quite right - also because it is cast iron and heats up it help to cook the bacon properly without burning

also , nothing quite like the look on the brides face when she opens the bacon press

then a week or so later getting the call about how surprised they are about how effective the press is
