Which have you seen? (mine in bold)

BEST PICTURE
"Black Swan"
"The Fighter"
"Inception"
"The Kids Are All Right"
"The King’s Speech"
"127 Hours"
"The Social Network"
"Toy Story 3"
"True Grit"
"Winter’s Bone"

I really want to see The King's Speech, Black Swan, and the Fighter. I still know nothing about Winter's Bone.

Any predictions/favorites?

I've seen all except Winter's Bone.

If I had to pick one, it'd be Social Network. But I have a feeling that King's Speech will take it.

I've seen Jeff's bone in the winter.

Also Nolan got snubbed for Best Director.

I've only seen Inception and Toy Story 3. The fact that Toy Story 3 was nominated for anything above Best Animated baffles me, but I guess I'm alone in that.

I haven't seen any of the Toy Story movies, which is weird because I love animated films.

I'm happy for the little girl from True Grit.

Out of these only Toy Story 3, Inception and the Social Network (+maybe the Kids Are Alright?) have been in theatres yet because most movies arrive late to Finland. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these films in the near future though, especially the Fighter, Black Swan and 127Hours

Only seen Inception & Black Swan (which was mind-blowingly amazing).

I'm amazed by the hype of Social Network. It doesn't look THAT good. like one of those movies I'd like to watch when it hits DVD.

It's already out on DVD! It is getting crazy hype, but it was a pretty interesting movie and really well made. I'd probably vote True Grit myself.

JT is a real good actor. His character in Alpha Dog was, at least, so good I had to turn the movie off toward the end because it got too intense. Then I threw away the DVD.

No Mila Kunis for Best Supporting Actress. :(

I feel like Toy Story 3 could be nominated for just Best Animated Feature Film instead of BAFF and Best Picture since it's almost guaranteed it will win for BAFF and it's pretty unlikely it will win for Best Picture.

i've seen them all except for King's, Kids, and Winter's.

Black Swan is the'best.
Inception should get something because it was also tight.
Social Network was tight because i could relate because i have facebook so that was cool.
jublin
   jublin on Jan 25 '11 at 7:51pm
also, i saw The Illusionist last night and the more I think about it the more i might prefer it to Toy Story 3. It was legit sad and though-provoking. both movies are tight.

it's a pretty pathetic year for the Oscars, but I probably think that every year.

The Social Network was pretty good for an average film.
shakethesheets
shakethesheets on Jan 25 '11 at 8:48pm
They were mostly pretty blah movies that were boring in places.

I liked Toy Story 3, but it dragged, a lot of the jokes weren't quite on point, and it lacked the sincerity of the original.

Inception was blah, I know how a lot of you guys love to talk about it, but I can't find anything notable or incredible about it, except it was remarkably formulaic at times, to the point where it felt like a satire.

and I kinda liked True Grit and am all for Jeff Bridges getting the win for it, but as a whole piece it was lacking, and some of the Brolin scenes put me to sleep.

I don't like how there's ten nominees now. I think there's always five movies in the list that have ten other nominations in the other categories and then there's five genre-tokenisms.

I'm doing pretty well. I've seen:

"Black Swan"
"Inception"
"The Kids Are All Right"
"The King’s Speech"
"127 Hours"
"The Social Network"
"Toy Story 3"

All great in their own way but Black Swan stands out for me personally though I think Social Network will win.

I love the oscars and have an oscar viewing party every year! I know that's crazy but I've just always been into it since childhood. You're ALL invited! (the food is always amazing!)

Saw The Fighter and Winter's Bone over the past couple weeks. Both were really good. I think WB was actually my favorite of all the nominees, surprisingly.
