It would be nice to have some sort of symbol that lets you know when a particular image has a slide show that you should wait to see

I like it. Simple, easy to use and you have 'next' buttons once you've enlarged your images. So many portfolio sites don;t have that.

Only thing I's day is that you might want to fill the thumbnail grid thing from the top down. Looks a bit empty otherwise.

thanks for the comments so far, the slideshow symbol is a very good idea :D ...and yes, it looks a bit empty now, but in a few months I hope there will be a lot more in there :)
