The Japanese is fine, yumenohoshi. The designer explains on her blog that "kao kara hi ga demasu" is a figure of speech. Also, she wanted the Japanese to sound over-polite and somewhat strange. It just adds to the zaniness of the shirt.

I was thinking the gramer was strange as well. Now that I know that "atama kara hi ga deru" is a set phrase it makes more sense. A literal translation makes this "fire comes out of my head" However, I still think "sono tame ni" is the wrong phrase. It indeed translates to "because of this" but the context is wrong from my understanding... Still I ordered the shirt. How could I help myself it's so funny...

exsane I'm 100% with you! I took it all last year and over the summer i've already forgotten most of it of the grammar :-(

Though strangely the kanji has stayed with me.

I think it's ok, anyways, since mostly Americans will be wearing it.

And if I was Japanese I'd laugh at the poor grammer, because I mean, look at 'Engrish' shirts.

Those are hilarious.
