help!!

ok, im sure i sound like an idiot, but im working on my first submission. once i brought everything into the photoshop template file, i flattened the layers and got rid of the shirt colors i didnt need. i then saved it as a gif. but the file size is 136kb, and i need to get it down to 60kb!!

if anyone has some advice on making this file smaller that would be great!!

136kb? .. hmm.. lower the number of colours. the default is usually 256. try to make it 128 or 64. maybe even 16 since the shirts really only have 5 colours at the most.

Did you try the 'save for web' option?

I had the same problem at first. I'm not sure how you're "saving as", but, When I use the "Save for Web" option, it greatly reduces the file size. You may still need to tweak the colors, but it'll be from 75 or 80 to 60 instead of 136 to 60. Good luck!

save for web worked - took it down to 56kb. wow!! as you can see, im still learning. but hey, ya gotta start out somewhere, right?? thank you so much for your comments. i appreciate it greatly.
