Super pope is right. But there isn't too much you can use to represent extra lives anwyays, they're usually just avatars of the characer you're playing as.

the mario head from the nes mario world or the galaga ship would have worked fine for me, but perhaps those would be more universal to gamers and not anyone else.

Ain't some games of super mario have hearts that represent the lives? I'd delete the extra "lives" though, but overall, this kicks ass.
