But, you can still submit your design to the on going competition. So, you're not really that affected by it. Unless, of course, you want to go through and vote on the designs. In which case, if there are too many designs in the Loves Competition that you don't like then don't vote on designs anymore. Or wait until the competition's over then start voting again.

I really don't see why people have such a problem with the Loves competitions. It barely changes anything. At least for me. But, I can't be phased, either.

I agree, I don't feel any inspiration. But yeah, if you really wanted to participate in a loves comp., then just wait until you see one that you like.

Think about it this way:
The people who are submitting for the Loves competitions will have less time to submit for the regular competition, right? So if it's something you don't have any passion for, then better for you since you can devote your time to projects you like.

the funniest part is the text on the Used contest. "The diverse musical tastes might have torn apart a lesser band" or something like that. Made me laugh out loud.

i have nothiing agianst those comps, but they are a little TOO deep.

Every moth threadless should decide what they want to see depicted on a shirt (something specific) and have seperate contest for that. IT would be funny to see others' takes on the same idea.

also, even if you don't like "The Used" the theme says "In Love and Death", so, not exactly the used. if you were just asked to create something off "In Love and Death" it would be easier than just "The Used"

i don't have an issue with the contests.

yeah, i really want to submit something ti the love's competitions, but i don't like any of it. and the music one is just to general... i am totally NOT inspired.

i can't focus on the them "in love and death" because i'll get distracted and start thinking about the used which will lead me to have mental images of myspace pictures of guys in girl jeand taking pictures of themselves in the mirror from an angle.

While I do think that these bands sound like generic crapola, a good illustrator can derive elements from anything and create a successful image. You just have to dig a bit deeper.

Not saying that I CAN, but I know it's possible.

I don't have a problem with the contests, except that a lot of people make very uninteresting or uninspired designs just based on the contest title. The flood of poor thought out "sex and death" designs, for example. I have only seen one that I liked, and its title was something different.
