im not a very awesome artist, but i do try and make my shirts funny or meaningful. If the shirt isnt drawn well, but makes you laugh, do you guys usually score it high or low? And vise versa, if a shirt is just sort of cool but very well drawn and highly detailed how would you score it? I myself am somewhat of a design newb but im trying to learn the tricks and methods.

I like clean designs, and ones that work as a unit. I laugh when the content is unexpected, or clever.

minimal can be good, but detail makes people feel like they got their moneys worth. just like furniture.

I dont' want something overly detailed or covoluted on a shirt. I want something somebody can glance at and see for what it is. As far as message, if it's something unusual and that's the message, then that's what I go for. The shirts that I've bought are Calling Home, Russell! How's Yer Ma, Pencils are Erasist, Piece of Meat and I'm A Level Fifty SPellcaster, which are all really simple. Well, plus Dark Side of the Garden for a Star Wars friend and Permafrost Pollution for my polar bear loving brother.
But the more ornate/detailed ones seem to sell really well. Look at Who I am. It just got reprinted.
And this didn't help or answer anything at all.
Because for me I don't think it falls under one or th eother category.

I like well executed designs with an unexpected message. If the design gets too detailed I think it would work better as a poster or art print.

40% idea
50% execution
10% color - shirt and inks combined
